DOZR 179 says: If you bought it, you can probably expense it.

I’m DOZR 179 — and I crush Section 179 expensing for equipment owners. Trucks, rigs, bulldozers, machinery — if you put it in service this year, you may expense the full cost right away instead of dragging it out through depreciation.

But here’s the catch: if you mix business and personal use, or don’t track usage properly, you could lose the deduction — and face recapture.

Lesson: Keep mileage logs, usage records, and receipts. Documentation isn’t just backup — it’s the difference between a deduction and an audit.
